In 2019, CHF celebrated its 25th Anniversary of Nuuciq, and we are very proud of this legacy. We were able to reach the 25-year milestone, because we placed an emphasis on camp safety. The COVID-19 Pandemic brought on new challenges and, to make sure we did our best to keep our loved ones in our communities safe, we decided to cancel camp in 2020. It was not an easy decision; however, we did not want to put any of our camp attendees at risk of COVID-19 exposure.
We will always place the health and wellbeing of the Chugach shareholders and descendants, our employees, and the general public at the forefront of all that we do. As CHF continues to follow CDC guidelines and recommendations, we have decided not to host our traditional Nuuciq Spirit Camp in 2021, as pandemic uncertainties are still present, and the safety of our people and our communities remains a priority. In its place, we will be offering a two-week long virtual program. Stay tuned for more information!
