Welcome to the Chugach Heritage Foundation Scholarship Program. CHF offers scholarships to support students seeking college and university degrees (Associates, Bachelors, and Masters) vocational certificates, job training, and possible internship opportunities.
Scholarship recipients for both the College and Vocational scholarships are expected to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher, while successfully completing all CHF funded course work. Failure to maintain a term GPA of 2.0 and/or successfully completing CHF funded course work, could result in a loss of continued funding.
Scholarship amounts are based on full-time status as determined by your institution. Applicants enrolled at less than full time status will be awarded a prorated scholarship.
New Scholarship Requirement (5/31/2014) -- All CHF applicants (both New and Repeat applicants) who are lineal descendants and NOT original shareholders of the Chugach Alaska Corporation (CAC) must complete the CAC Descendant Registration form located at www.chugach.com under the Shareholders tab. This form must be completed before scholarship applications are submitted. If you have already completed the Descendant Registration form, you do not to need to complete it again. Associate level and one or two year certificate seeking students are eligible for up to $4,800 annually.
Junior and Senior level undergraduates earning their bachelor’s degree are eligible for $6,000 per academic year.
Graduate level students seeking a Master's degree are eligible for up to $10,000 per academic year. The CHF Graduate Scholarship is a competitive scholarship. Deadline of June 30!
Vocational Training funding is limited to $4,000 per academic year. This funding is awarded to students registered for training that will broaden their employment opportunities or maintain their skill level. For example: HAZWOPER certification or any classes required to maintain job-related licenses. Applications are accepted anytime.
Barney Uhart Memorial Scholarship is available to individuals pursuing a Bachelors degree, have a Senior class standing within their degree program, or are currently enrolled in a graduate program. Applicants must be available to participate in a paid internship within the Chugach Alaska Corporation or one of its subsidiaries at the end of their academic year. This is a competitive, degree specific scholarship. Deadline has been extended through September 30!
